WOLVERINE POWER LIFTERS ARE SUPERSTARS Holdenville has been a significant force in the sport of powerlifting ever since Coach Butch Rawls introduced the sport to the Wolverines in the early 1990’s. The sport became popular under Rawls’ leadership and in the past decade it has picked up momentum throughout the state.

Glenn Morison, a Canadian Christian, wrote in his church-related paper, “I’ve never met a person who tithes who is unhappy doing so!” We have a God who has promised to meet our needs as we cooperate with Him in our finances, worshiping Him with the first part of our income. We’re told that as we honor God with our possessions and the first part of our income, our “barns will be filled with plenty, and [our] vats will overflow with new wine”.

Construction is underway on a long-discussed water transfer project designed to move excess water from Holdenville’s old lake to the city’s newer reservoir during periods of heavy inflow, a step city officials say will help better manage available water during drought conditions.
