Wolverines wallop Wampus Cats 43-6 The Wolverines didn’t play their best game of the year but they did play well enough to totally dominate the Atoka Wampus Cats by a score of 43-6. The game had some significant highlights.
Holdenville defender, Cash Carter, interrupted an Atoka handoff and created a fumble on the Wampus Cats’ first play from scrimmage. # 24 Xavier Randal # 54, Izaia Tiger, and # 22 Sawyer Jeffrey scrambled for the loose ball that Randall ended up securing to the Wolverines the ball at the Atoka 39 yard line.

The Oklahoma defense struck first with a 44 yard interception touchdown by Billy Bowman. The Sooners amassed 523 yards on offense as Dillon Gabriel finished 26/39 for 366 yards and three passing touchdowns and two rushing touchdowns. The defense kept Iowa State from scoring in the second half and secured the victory. Oklahoma improved to 5-0. Now with a big win against Texas in the Red River Rivalry, OU advance to 6-0.

1965—OLD NEWS Wakeley, Troup Give Program To Local Club Joe Rauniker, head of the Vocational Agriculture training in the local High School, was Program Chairman for the Tuesday meeting of the Rotary Club. His opening remarks covered some of the community service activities of his group such as the building of the new back stop at the local ballpark, the construction of the seven man sled for use in training for the football team. He added they are now in the process of building new sign boards to be erected on the highway inviting tourists into Holdenville.

HOLDENVILLE POLICE UNCOVER FALSE IDENTITY, SUSPECT ESCAPES CUSTODY

Holdenville, Oklahoma - In a dramatic turn of events, a suspect wanted for a larceny from Dollar General attempted to evade arrest on September 28, 2023, resulting in a pursuit through alleys and backyards. Officer Chris Perteet Jr. of the Holdenville Police Department was on duty at approximately 1030 hours when he encountered the wanted individual at the intersection of Eighth and Creek Streets.

OFFICER ARRESTED FOR ATTEMPTED CONTRABAND SMUGGLING AT DAVIS CORRECTIONAL FACILITY

Hughes County, Oklahoma - In a shocking turn of events, Peoria Nash, a Correctional Officer at Davis Correctional Facility, was arrested on September 28, 2023, for attempting to introduce contraband into the facility. The arrest followed an extensive investigation led by Agent Craig Hicks of the Oklahoma Department of Corrections (ODOC) Office of Inspector General (OIG), revealing a carefully orchestrated plan involving an unknown caller and a lucrative offer.
