We have said before and will say again that former Mayor Massad is one of the most outstanding mayors I have ever known, and I have known each of them since the 1950’s. And the recent audit report proves his success.

Holdenville, Oklahoma - Walter Shane Brunson, 39, was arrested on February 3, 2023, for check fraud at Security State Bank in Holdenville. The arrest led to a subsequent investigation involving stolen firearms, resulting in the recovery of the stolen weapons and the identification of an accomplice.

The Capitol Heights Missionary Baptist Church will be celebrating their 90th year in ministry on July 16, 2023.Bro. Jim Crawford has been pastor since October 2000 and will bring the morning message. The service begins at 10:45 a.m. and dinner will follow.

1958 OLD NEWS Calvin, Dustin Sailors Are In Middle East Two Hughes County Sailors—one from Dustin and the other from Calvin—are with the United States Naval Forces which are currently involved in the Middle East action. Information that the two county seamen are in the operation has come from official naval releases made to hometown newspapers by the information department.

The Holdenville Society of Painter and Sculptors (HSPS) announces a one-day workshop to teach beginning acrylic painting techniques to be held August 17, 2023. This class will support beginners who have never picked up acrylic paint or have a little experience and will be a great opportunity to meet, greet, and learn! Holdenville, Oklahoma - Hillary Chekan, 29, was arrested in the early hours of June 14, 2023, after being pulled over for driving on the wrong side of the road. Officer Chris Perteet Jr of the Holdenville Police Department noticed Chekan’s silver Honda traveling northbound on West Eighth Street with its trunk swinging open and shut.
