Cheesley “Frank” Bleeker, age 78, departed this life on Friday, October 9, 2020 in Shawnee, Oklahoma. He was born September 24, 1942 in Okemah, Oklahoma to the late Albert Bleeker and Agnes Campo Churchill. He was a graduate of Butner High School. On July 28, 1972 he married Shirley Land in Tatum, New Mexico.

2020 Fall Festival Car Show winners

The 2020 Holdenville Fall Festival and Car Show was a huge success. This was due in part to the pleasant weather, but mostly to the hard work by the Holdenville Chamber of Commerce, who sponsor the Festival and Car Show, the Holdenville Business Women, who sponsor the Fall Festival Parade, and the many other organizations, businesses and individuals that contribute their time, energy, and funds to this celebration of all the positive things the Holdenville community has to offer.

The State Fire Marshall is investigating arson on the 1000 block of S. Broadway. The house pictured above has been set ablaze three times in the past month; this last time burning completely to the ground. There were no casualties. If you have any information on how the fires were started or information that might be helpful in apprehending the arsonist, please call the Holdenville Police Department at 379-6627.

Monte Morrow Taylor left us Saturday, October 3, 2020, to begin her journey home. Monte was born to J.G. and Orah Morrow December 12, 1930 in Hughes County Oklahoma. She graduated from Moss High School where she met her future husband Leonard Taylor, who preceded her in death. They were married November 16, 1952.
