Good morning to you. Hasn’t this weather been great! I don’t think we are ever satisfied but I could take a couple of months of this weather. I was reading in the Book of John this week - what a great Disciple- I can imagine him on the seashore with James and the other apostles. Time may have dulled his memory but not his vision of JESUS. The sea shores may have wrinkled his face, but they didn’t soften his love for JESUS. He had been with HIM - how could he forget - the wine that moments before had been water - John could probably still taste it! The mud placed on the eyes of the blind man in Jerusalem - He could still remember it! The aroma of Mary’s perfume as it filled the room - He could still smell it! And the VOICE - HIS VOICE - John could still hear it! “I am the light of the world -- I am the door -- I am the Way, the Truth, the Life.” “I will come back and take you to be with ME.”

The fate of three suspects in the alleged shooting death of Jonathon Merriman in the parking lot of Pruett’s grocery on Sunday, June 24, 2018 is currently pending after the trio entered their pleas to the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma. A customer that was standing at the check-out counter at the time of the alleged shooting was injured when a stray bullet hit her in the head

Billie Fern Moore passed away at her daughter’s home in Haileyville, Oklahoma on Sunday, October 4, 2020, at the age of 86 years. Billie was the daughter of George Clay Billie was the daughter of George Clay Robertson and Audrie Indianola (Pyle) Robertson, born on April 14, 1934 in Okemah, Oklahoma.

Raymond Floyd ‘Ray’ McCullar Jr. passed away in Seminole, Oklahoma on Monday, October 5, 2020, at the age of 67 years.

The NEWS learned today that HHS Homecoming festivities have been postponed and set for Friday, October 23, 2020. The Wolverines went on the road last Friday and once again got off to a slow start.

Every so often I think about retiring again. I recently celebrated the 65 reunion with a few remaining members of the glorious 1953 graduating class of Holdenville High School. I had a hard time convincing them I have already retired twice, once in 1988 and again in 2015 and yet I still seem to have at least three jobs.

Two state questions will appear on the November 3 general election ballot. State Question 805 was placed on the ballot by gathering signatures from citizens; State Question 814 was referred to a vote of the people by the Oklahoma Legislature. Good morning to you. I sure have enjoyed our weather this week. Let’s hope the temperatures will stay like this for several weeks. For our Bible reading this week, let’s look at I Thessalonians 5:16-17. It tells us: “REJOICE EVER- MORE - PRAY WITH- OUT CEASING” The Bible does not tell us to rejoice in our circumstances; it tells us to rejoice in the LORD in the midst of our circumstances. We can turn every circumstance into prayer but remember the key to prayer is drawing closer to GOD who can help us with our situations.
