Sunday a week ago, was a day that I will never forget…I was among the many that attended the 100 Anniversary of the Holdenville Church of the Nazarene. Over the years I have been privileged to attend some incredible church services, but this one is at the top of the list. From the opening special music to the final prayer, it was such a blessing.

I have everything that I wanted as a teenager, only 60 years later. I don’t have to go to school or work. I get an allowance every month. I have my own pad. I don’t have a curfew. I have a driver’s license and my own car. The people I hang around with are not scared of getting pregnant and I don’t have acne. Life is great. I changed my car horn to gunshot sounds. People get out of the way much faster now.

Scott and Debbie are married friends of mine who raised three boys and a girl. One of their boys, Caleb, had was always saying funny things. One time Scott got a call from Debbie at his office telling him he should switch on the television to watch news about the Presidential prayer breakfast. “God is really present there!” Debbie exclaimed. In the background Scott could hear his four-year-old son Caleb, who was also watching the TV, ask his mom “God’s there? Which one is He, Mommy?”
