These students were nominated by the faculty based on their scholastic achievement, extra-curricular activities and character.

SHELTER DOGS UP FOR EUTHANIZATION-COME ADOPT!

The Holdenville Animal Shelter was I informed Monday, April 22nd that the city wants ten dogs euthanized each week until there is a manageable amount. We don’t know what the number is yet for manageable amount. The ADOPTION EVENT that was supposed to be last Saturday at Walmart and Sovereign Bank was postponed due to rain, but is planned for this coming Saturday, April 25th from 11am til 1pm. Dogs will be at the Sovereign Bank parking lot with free hotdogs and chips while they last. All dogs are completely vetted including spayed and neutered. Halo will have a table set up at Walmart for people to donate dog food and other items needed for the shelter. Just do your shopping and pickup and item for the shelter and drop it off at the table on your way to your car. Little Dog Closet will have a booth with items needed for your new dog. The first 8 people to adopt a dog will receive $25. To purchase items for their new dog. This is sponsored by Tony Akin of Galveston, Tx. Former Holdenville resident and 1978 graduate of Holdenville High School. We are going to see if we can schedule the Rolling Glacier for snow cones. That is pending right now.

15th Annual American Indian Convocation to be held Sunday

The 15th annual American Indian Convocation, hosted by the Council of Holdenville American Indian Alumni in partnership with Holdenville High School, will take place on Sunday evening, April 28, 2024, at the Holdenville High School Auditorium, from 6 PM to 7 PM.

The Diana award was given April 21, 2024 and is given every year to one deserving member of our community. Diana stands for Distinguished International Academy of Noble Achievement and is given to a woman who exemplifies in her daily life the attributes of faith, hope, love and has given of herself to a remarkable degree in an area of service. We believe Nancy embodies all of these characteristics.
