The Holdenville Society of Painters and Sculptors recently held a three-day work shop featuring instructor Dewayne Taylor. The three-day workshop allowed participants of all skill levels to learn water color skills and to hone skills that they already had been using to complete their pieces. Participants, including 12 year old talent, Rayna Wilson worked on basic perspective in winter landscapes and finished with a beautiful watercolor picture of iris. The Art Center is located at 118 N Broadway Street in Holdenville, OK and is supported partly by grants from the Oklahoma Arts Foundation, the National Art Council, memberships, and donations by friends of the arts and local citizens. The grants help support 5 events each year for the community ranging from the 3-day workshops, the summer youth program and the Spring and Fall Art Shows. The Spring Art Show is coming up with check in to begin Sunday April 21 from 2-5pm, Monday April 22 from 10-2pm and ending with Tuesday April 23 from 3-6pm. All entries must be accepted during these time frames and will be judged and presented for viewing at the Open House on Sunday afternoon, April 28th at 1:30pm.
