Many of us over 40, WAY over 40 or hovering near 40 are quite confused about how we should present ourselves. We’re unsure about the kind of image we are projecting and whether or not we are correct as we try to conform to current fashions.
The Hughes County OHCE Atwood Club sewed 26 cooling neck ties for deployed military this last Tuesday at their club meeting. The focus of this project is to help keep service members cooler as the triple- digit temps begin to hit this summer. We will be saving some of the neck ties for our annual military boxes that we send out each fall to deployed relatives of local residents of Hughes county, and the rest will go to Madison Nickels a 4-Her that is collecting these neck ties year-round to send to deployed military. Our OHCE club hopes to help keep service members cooler for when the triple digit temps begin to hit. These neck ties are filled with water-absorbent polymers and work on the principal of evaporative cooling. Coolties are a hands-free way to bring down a person’s body temperature. If you are a resident of Hughes county and have a deployed relative, send us your loved ones contact information to 200 N. Broadway. Suite 2, Holdenville, OK 74848 and they will put them on their list for this fall.
According to a Facebook post from the Holdenville Fire Department: Fire crews in Rescue 21 were dispatched to reports of a motorcycle vs vehicle collision around 7 a.m. this morning just south of Holdenville Lake. Rescue 21 was first on scene and found the patient as well as his motorcycle laying in the northbound lane blocking traffic movement. Fire crews positioned R-21 as a saftey block then began first aid/medical assessment steps while waiting for Hughes County EMS to arrive on scene which was just shortly after. It was soon found that the incident was actually a motorcycle vs deer collision. Crews prepared, loaded, and assisted EMS to transport the patient to a helicopter pad with critical injuries.
