CANDIDATE FILING BEGINS April 1st Statewide election activity officially begins at 8 a.m. Wednesday, April 1st, when the candidate filing period opens, the Secretary of the Hughes County Election Board said today.

— A Holdenville woman is facing charges following an investigation into alleged fraudulent receipt of Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits. According to an affidavit filed in Hughes County District Court, Amelia Rose Delashaw, 34, is accused of obtaining food stamp benefits by fraud during a period spanning from July 2021 through February 2025.
