It is with sorrow that we announce the passing of Billie Kathryn Shores, Grizzle, Murray on February 28, 2026. Billie was the last of nine (9) children born to Henry Shores and Mattie Davis Shores on October the 13, 1932. Billie was born in Hughes County in the small town of Yeager Oklahoma.

Orville Reid, of Holdenville, Oklahoma, passed away on February 20, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of faith, service, love, and deep devotion to the people around him. From his early years in Holdenville to his many years of leadership and service in the community, Orville was a man whose presence made others feel supported, encouraged, and cared for. He will be remembered for his steady character, warm spirit, and the countless ways he gave of himself to his family, his church, and his hometown.

Doyle Eugene Wingo passed away in Holdenville on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at the age of 92 years. Doyle is the son of Vernon Albert ‘Stud’ Wingo & Cora (Coppedge) Wingo, born on September 29, 1933, in the Jackson community west of Holdenville, Oklahoma.

Brent Lee Harjo (Opie) passed away Saturday, February 7, 2026 in California at the age of 37 years old. Opie was born July 8, 1988 in Ada, Oklahoma to Lewis Wayne Harjo and Janie Ann (Faulkner) Harjo.

Earl Levon Leewright was born June 30, 1933 in Holdenville, Oklahoma. He died February 7, 2026 at home, surrounded by loved ones. He was the 3rd child born to Ira Earl Leewright and Lula Edna Carter. Earl married Fernella Iris Hall on June 24, 1953 and they were happily married for almost 67 years. He is survived by his four daughters; Lynette Pardue, Sherry Ekstrom, Teresa Shepherd and Renita Landers. Earl gave his heart to the Lord when he was a young boy.

Billye Modene Venable Treadwell was born January 11, 1934, to Sterling and Manda Venable. She was the youngest of 4 siblings and grew up on a farm in the Bilby/Spaulding area south of Holdenville. Hoeing peanuts, milking, churning, and her least favorite, picking cotton were daily chores for Billye and her siblings. Before she was old enough to work in the fields, and underfoot in the house with her mom, she was tasked with getting the mail, a quarter mile down the lane. She often rode her stick horse because it was “too far to walk.”

Jimmy Dale HOWARD was born in Holdenville Oklahoma December 23, 1933 and passed away at the VETERANS Center in Norman Oklahoma on February 13. Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents Cecil and Etta HOWARD of Spaulding , Oklahoma brother Jesse Lee HOWARD, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, also a baby sister JoAnn.

Carolyn Jean McDaniel, a longtime resident of the Holdenville and Seminole areas, passed away in Frisco, Texas on January 13th, 2026. Carolyn was a 1960 graduate of Holdenville High School and attended Oklahoma City University.

Roberta Ilona Shed, age 85, of Holdenville, passed away on January 11, 2026. She was born on June 29, 1940, in Holdenville, to Oscar and Inez Thetford Smith.
