Jason David Gerard passed away Saturday, August 31, 2024, at McAlester Regional Hospital in McAlester, Oklahoma at the age of 50.

Jason was born December 21, 1973, in Morristown, New Jersey, to David Gerard of Long Valley, NJ and Nancy (Jones) Blaylock. He graduated from Bernardsville High School in New Jersey. Jason married Heather Leann Lucas on November 8, 2014, in Holdenville, Oklahoma.

Jason had the most beautiful soul God had ever made. His heart was filled with the purest form of love. Jason was a jack of many trades and considered himself a master of most. Jason was the best husband to his sunshine wifey, and the best dad to their three beautiful children Aliese, Reiley, and Brian. He is known by many, many names, Smiley Hubby, Dad, Brother Jay, Bro, Sweet Petunia, Uncle Wifey, Uncle Jay, Jay, Brother, and Friend.

He found the love he truly lived for fourteen years ago when he met his sunshine wifey Heather. They were married nine years ago and were sixty- nine days shy of celebrating ten years together on November 8th. They shared a beautiful life together and lived by their motto of “ Life is always better when you marry your best friend”. They always strived daily to show their three children a marriage that would make them want to get married. He loved life and lived it to the fullest. Jason was the greatest dad. There was nothing he loved more in life than being an amazing father and husband. He taught Aliese and Reiley everything he knew in life. They both have their fathers love for cooking, grilling, baking, and especially blowing stuff up. Jason was known as a beloved son to his momma, he was her sweet petunia. They shared many loves of gardening, baking, and their love for Heather. Jason was the best man Heather could have picked to give her family.

Jason was someone who you could always count on no matter the day or the time. He would give the shirt off his back and even his last dollar. He was the hardest working man you would’ve ever met. He was most definitely a family and a God-fearing man. He made sure his family never went without and all their needs were met. Beside his love for his family, he loved cooking, grilling, and perfected the most delicious desserts. He was always beyond honored to make our family members birthday cakes. He had a passion for showing his love through amazing food. He also loved hunting, fishing, and could drive anything with four wheels and some two wheels. Jason’s love for big trucks led him to truck driving for 25 years. Let’s not forget shooting guns with his kiddos and blowing up fireworks. Jason loved to talk; he never met a stranger, he also loved being an active 4-H volunteer. This past May he was honored to drive a bus of 4-H kids to Colorado Springs and back. The hugs were worth every mile and the memories that were made will last a lifetime. He loved being a part of the Triple O Show Team during Aliese and Reiley’s school years. Early mornings and late nights watching Aliese, Reiley, and Karson in the show ring. Being a show dad and uncle was something he loved. Jason loved his friends and family. He was a great provider, protector, family man and friend. His daily mission was to make his family but most of all his wifey smile every day.

He loved his weekend mornings, sharing a cup of coffee with Mister. They shared a love for Rock and Roll music and fudge pops. He loved his wife with every ounce of his soul. This world has suffered an incredible loss. The lives of his family and friends will never be the same. God broke the hearts of many when his golden heart was laid to rest. His life was nothing short but a blessing to everyone, this is not a farewell but a see you again soon. He made many memories with his dad from learning how to fish and hunt and to fixing anything with his hands. He loved flying airplanes, going to concerts with his cousins, storm chasing, playing the drums with his best friends, and hunting deer. Jason is preceded in death by his mother Nancy Blaylock, and stepfather Larry Don Blaylock.
