Judith “Judy” Ann Orr

Judith “Judy” Ann Orr, 80, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend of many went to be with our Heavenly Father on 23 October 2023. She was surrounded by family and died peacefully at her home in Choctaw.

Judy was born in Richmond California on 17 August 1943 to Charlie “Pete” Hoye and Pluma Lorene Reid. They moved from California to Calvin Oklahoma in 1957 where she met her life-long sweetheart, James Orr. They were married on 25 April 1960 and remained together for 63 years.

Judy is survived by her husband James Orr, her sonJimmyandSusanOrrof Choctaw Oklahoma, her daughter Shelly Alley of Choctaw Oklahoma, her sister Charlene Echols ofAtwood Oklahoma, and her brother Wayne Reid of Atwood Oklahoma.

Judy loved and cherished her 6 grandchildren, Heather Prior and husband Brad, Lindsay Moody, Shanna McBryde and husband Jeremy, Jessica Watson and husband Jordan, Travis Orr and wife Calli, and Brennin Minitre.

Judy had 21 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents and her granddaughter Heather.

Judy chased grandchildren to baseball and softball fields and basketball courts all over Oklahoma as well as other states. Judy hardly ever missed one of their games.

Judy was an avid gardener and belonged to the American Hemerocallis Society. In 1999, the world daylily garden tour made a stop at her beautiful daylily garden. Hundreds of people from all over the United States and a few foreign countries came to enjoy her wonderful garden.

Judy was a member of the Water Garden Society of Oklahoma and her water garden was a popular stop on many annual tours of OKC.

Judy enjoyed going to auctions and was an astute collector of antiques, glassware, and cookie jars.
