Do You Compliment Your Mate?

Body
Dr. Glenn Mollette Where do you hear a compliment? Dolly Parton said her husband was receiving a number of compliments from a woman at their local bank. She subsequently wrote the song titled Jolene. In the song she penned these words, “Jolene, please don’t take my man just because you can.” I don’t believe for a minute there was ever any woman who could have snatched up Carl Dean away from Dolly. However, whatever was transpiring made for a great hit song for Dolly. Also, I feel confident that Carl was getting plenty of attention from Dolly at home as well. Or, maybe he wasn’t, who knows?

WHAT IS V-J DAY...LOOKING BACK AT WWII

Body
The Second World War was a bloody conflict that lasted from 1939 to 1945. The war was waged between the Axis powers, which included Ger-many, Italy and Japan, and the Allied powers of France, Great Britain, the United States, the Soviet Union, and, to a lesser extent, Chi-na, according to Britannica. The start of WWII World War II began when Adolf Hitler ordered the in-vasion of Poland, despite an agreement with the Soviets about control and division of the nation. Poland had guar-antees of British and French military support should it be attacked by Germany. There-fore, when Hitler’s invasion began in late August 1939, Great Britain and France de-clared war on September 3, thus marking the onset of World War II. The war raged on for six years, only coming to an end with Victory over Japan Day (V-J Day) on August 14, 1945.
