Class ring found 20 years later!

Body
Brock Ulm was shocked when his brother texted him to say one of his wife’s Facebook friends (Jason Grizzle) had posted a picture of his class ring that he lost over 20 years ago. Brock says he lost the ring during the winter of 96-97 while he was walking home from school. He then contacted Jason and he told Brock that his daughter had found it in their backyard, which was an empty lot that he used to cut through every day on his way home from school. After losing the ring, Brock would spend time looking for his ring because he knew where he had lost it. Turns out that it was found in that same area! Brocks stated, “It’s crazy that it laid covered in dirt for 20+ years and that it happened to be found and returned. Thanks, Jason Grizzle!”

Fall Art Show check-in September 28-30

Body
The Holdenville Society of Painters and Sculptors (HSPS) is thrilled to announce they will be hosting the 2020 Fall Art Show, although there are some important changes that have been made to allow social distancing and safe practices due to the COVID virus. The Spring Art Show was cancelled due to the pandemic. For the Summer Arts Program, HSPS offered students an Arts Project Box with instructions, and the instructors offered lessons online so the students could still have a positive art experience while remaining at home.

Calvin and Moss students return to classrooms

Body
Calvin and Moss Public Schools are working to provide students with a learning experience that is as traditional as possible while also making certain the students are as safe as possible. Although students have the option of taking virtual classes at home, or a blend of both, Superintendent Travis Graham strongly believes students should attend actual classes if possible, stating it is important they maintain and build their relationships and connections with other students. Of course, any current plans are subject to change schools will follow all guidelines or mandates set forth by the State Department of Education. Graham adds that students that are taking virtual classes at home are still eligible for school meals and can participate in extracurricular activities such as sports.
