ORWP hosted their annual meeting recently at the Durant Library and the turnout was impressive. Elected officials in attendance were Rep Eddy Dempsey (Garvin), Rep Jim Grego (Rep-17), Rep Justin Humphrey (Lane), Sen David Bullard (Durant), Sen George Burns (Pollard) and Commissioner Ron Boyer (Bryan County). Guest speakers and presentations were given by Chief Gary Batton and his science staff from the Water Resource Department of the Choctaw Nation. A warm welcome was extended to Secretary of Energy & Environment Ken Wagner who has fallen in love with southeastern Oklahoma.

Holdenville All-Stater, Cheyenne Fixico has signed a Letter of Intent to play ball at Cameron University. Holdenville infielder, Brooklyn Brown, has signed a Letter of Intent to play softball at Connors State College.

Shiloh Baptist Church was founded in the year of 1860 under the leadership of the late Rev. Banks Stevenson. The Creek Nation provided the land for this historical monument when Oklahoma was yet Indian Territory. It is only by the grace of God, the prayer and suffering of a faithful few that this church has survived.

Tonight, in a special meeting, the Holdenville City Council will vote to fill the Ward 1 council seat vacated by Mr. Bill Freeman after he resigned last Tuesday night.

Two of the most godly ministers we have ever known are Pastors Jimmie Freeman and David Pope pictured above. These two have reached countless lives not only in our community but around the country. They have been such a blessing to so many people, including our family. May God continue to give them good health as they continue serving the Lord in our community. Jimmie pastors the Harvest Time Tabernacle and David pastors Penn West Baptist Church. Next time you see one of these men, shake their hand and let them know how much they are appreciated.
