All Oklahomans drive on the same roads and can access the same public-school system. But thanks to the U.S. Supreme Court’s McGirt ruling, some Oklahomans may no longer pay to fund those systems, creating increased financial burdens for everyone else.
1864: Arlington National Cemetery is established. The cemetery was created on land around Arlington Mansion, which had formerly belonged to Confederate general Robert E. Lee that was confiscated during the Civil War. Originally built for Civil war dead, it became the final resting place of many of the soldiers who fought in America’s wars.

After more than 6 months of being closed for repair, the Holdenville Airport runway was opened on Wednesday, May 25, to allow contractors to fly in who will be working on the next project, repairing the taxiways. The major repairs on the runway are complete and taxiways will be completed very soon. The new runway lights will also be installed in the near future. Once these projects are complete the terminal repairs will begin.
