RETRACTION

Body
In our November 1 edition of the Holdenville News we made an egregious error in the front page story “Holdenville Drug Ring busted by Task Force.” In an attempt to obtain the mug shots an error was made in the name of Jeffrey Cowell and was accidentally requested as Jeffrey Crowell. Our sincere apologies to Jeffrey Crowell, who was in no way a part of the drug ring that was busted last week. Jeff Cowell, who was arrested is pictured at right.

Hughes County EMS was on scene at a structure fire of an abandoned residence with Holdenville Fire Department and Hughes County Sheriff’s Office. The structure on S. creek was a total loss. No firefighters or bystanders required medical aid. Evidence found by deputies leads to the conclusion of attempted copper thefts as a suspected cause of the fire, as the residence still had gas and electricity supplied.
