Rev. Harrell Rodebush passed away recently. He is our former pastor and a dear friend. He and his wife, Carol, made an incredible team and our local church showed tremendous growth during their time here. As we visited with the family, we recalled so many wonderful memories. Less than a day after Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt publicly called for the elimination of the Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association, state lawmakers introduced legislation that would dissolve the organization and replace it with a new state-run governing body.

MUSKOGEE, OKLAHOMA – The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma announced that Lariat Wayne Jagger, age 32, of Holdenville, Oklahoma, entered a guilty plea to one count of Felon in Possession of Firearm and Ammunition, punishable by up to 15 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.

With winter coming to and end and Spring just around the corner, many area residents are already starting to take advantage of the warmer weather to start trimming back the dead and lengthy limbs on their property. Others may have dead limbs and branches from the summer storms that need to be cleaned up. Street Commissioner Larrry Foster reminds Holdenville residents that the City of Holdenville will be providing the traditional Fall curbside pickup of brush and limbs during the month of October so they can begin planning their yard work strategy.

HOLDENVILLE — Tucked away in the rolling hills of southeast Oklahoma sits a deadly place, a medium-security prison now named after a correctional officer who was murdered at another facility. It opened 30 years ago, and holds up to 1,723 inmates, but remains little known.

A Holdenville woman, April Pryor was killed Wednesday night in a two-vehicle collision at a rural Hughes County intersection, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. The crash occurred at approximately 9:25 p.m.

Glenn Morison, a Canadian Christian, wrote in his church-related paper, “I’ve never met a person who tithes who is unhappy doing so!” We have a God who has promised to meet our needs as we cooperate with Him in our finances, worshiping Him with the first part of our income. We’re told that as we honor God with our possessions and the first part of our income, our “barns will be filled with plenty, and [our] vats will overflow with new wine”.
