John Bill Martin, HHS graduate and columnist of “Around Town” published weekly in the Holdenville News was surprised on his 90th birthday. John Bill lives in Harrah and still works for the Asa Smith Funeral Home. He is a special friend and one of a kind!

Doyle Eugene Wingo passed away in Holdenville on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at the age of 92 years. Funeral services will be Wednesday, February 11, 1:30pm at First Baptist Church in Holdenville, with interment following at Holdenville Cemetery.

Early voting begins Thursday, February 5th for voters in Hughes County. Voters who will not be able to make it to the polls on Election Day, have the option of voting early at their County Election Board.

January 6, 2026 Holdenville Lions Club met at Boom a rang Diner for their regular breakfast meeting. The meeting was called to order by President, Lion Theresa Barkhimer. She asked for the flag salute and invocation.
