OPEN ARMS FELLOWSHIP
The Holdenville Chamber of Com merce and Agriculture welcomed Open Arms Fellowship to the business community with a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on Friday, July 31. Pictured (left to right) are: Chamber members Landon Hall, Jim Davis, holding the scissors are Melanie and Pastor Rick Hudson, with young Jake in front, Tonja Weaver and Roberta Davis.
Pastor Hudson explains he calls his ministry Open Arms Fellowship because it is for anybody and everybody. It is a non-denominational Church. It’s not a cowboy church, but all cowboys are welcome. It’s not a Spanish church, but they’re all welcome. It’s not a Catholic church, but all Catholics are welcome. Drug addicts, alcoholics, people that a lot of folks don’t want to be around or with, are welcome there.
“We’re going to try to be as much like Christ as we can,” Hudson continues. “People surrounding Christ were not the best folks in the world,” he points out. “Prostitutes, tax collectors, nasty-mouthed fishermen, etcetera.”
Open Arms Fellowship is located at 400 South Broadway. Services are every Sunday at 4:00 p.m.
For more information contact Pastor Rick Hudson at (405) 221-7154.
Chamber President Tonja Weaver notes that the Hudson’s first began started the process of acquiring the church building in December 2019, but due to setbacks caused by the COVID 19 pandemic, they weren’t able to close the deal until last month. They have since begun renovating the building, and have a number of improvements they are working on. They welcome everyone to join them in their mission building a better future.
