The Holdenville Society of Painters and Sculptors (HSPS) reminds all area artists that the deadline to enter the 2021 Spring Art Show is just around the corner. Entries will be accepted Monday, April 26 from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.; Tuesday and Wednesday, April 27 and 28 from 3:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. Entry forms are available at the Art Center, located at 118 N. Broadway. The Art Center is open Monday - Friday form 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Generous cash prizes will be awarded in a wide range of categories and divisions ranging from pre-k students to master artist adults. Due to COVID 19 precautions, there will be no Judge’s Luncheon and no Open House, but all art entered will remain on display through Friday, May 14. The Judge for this year’s Spring Art Show will be Carol Armstrong.

The Holdenville City Council approved a wage increase for the Holdenville Fire Department employees during the April 6 City Council meeting. This was in response to the most recent request from Fire Chief Shelton Foster during the March 2 meeting. At that time the Fire Department Committee members agreed to discuss this increase during their March 10 meeting.

Thank you Holdenville for allowing me to serve as your city councilman. It has been an honor and I will never forget your kindness.

It has been a privilege to serve on the city council and many great things have happened in the past two years under the leadership of Mayor Massad. A special thank you to all my friends who supported me.
