The March release from the Oklahoma Tax Commission states that the March distribution of sales tax collections by the Oklahoma Tax Commission primarily represents local tax receipts from January business. Companies that remit more than $2,500 monthly in sales tax receipts are required to file and pay electronically. The monies they reported this period represent sales from January 16 to 31 and estimated sales from February 1 to the 15 .

The Holdenville Board of Education welcomed three new teachers to the District during their Monday night Board meeting. Julie Horton, Thomas Walser and his wife, Melissa Wasler (left to right) were introduced to the board members at the beginning of the meeting and officially approved during an executive session later that evening.

Tuition Waiver and Other Opportunities Coming to WWTC

The Holdenville Chamber of Commerce welcomed Vic Woods, Superintendent of Wes Watkins Technology Center (WWTC), as the guest speaker for their April 15 monthly luncheon General Meeting. Woods shared that Wes Watkins covers 2,048 square miles that includes 8 school districts. Holdenville is one of those school districts, and Woods commented on the very strong relationship they have with Superintendent Randy Davenport and Holdenville Schools, stating they are a great asset, just as WWTC is a great asset to Holdenville. Woods also praised the Holdenville Chamber for a very entertaining evening he had at the March 25 Chamber Banquet with his wife, Lori, who is a Career Development Specialist at Wes Watkins, adding they were very impressed by the Holdenville students that served the meals.
