Good Week for Wolverine Sports Last week was a near perfect week for Holdenville Wolverine sports. Coach Rick Scott’s softball team won three games and went undefeated for the week.
Holdenville softball standout, Cheyenne Fixico, is this week’s co-Wolverine of the Week. Chey is an outstanding pitcher and hitter.

Our next all-employee party will be on the night of October 30, and we’re looking forward to having a high falutin’ good time. We say “high falutin’” because the cash drawing that night will be for $45, and that’s getting up in the realm of high finance.

State Treasurer: Fossil Fuels Rebound to Push Gross Receipts Higher

Oklahoma Gross Receipts to the treasury in August grew by almost 20 percent over the year with a rebounding fossil fuel industry leading the way, State Treasurer Randy McDaniel announced last week. Total monthly gross receipts of $1.17 billion are higher than August of last year by $191.2 million, or 19.5 percent.

MINOR LEAGUE – ELKS 5 WETUMKA 3 The Elks scored single tallies in the first and second innings, added two more in the third and one in the sixth to pick up their first victory at Wetumka. Wetumka trailed 5-2 going into the seventh stanza but rallied to score one run and leave two runners on base before absorbing the defeat.
