Holdenville head Softball Coach, Rick Scott and his assistant, Casey Lavalley are anxious to begin the 2022 Fall Fast Pitch Season! The Wolverines lost several key players off last year’s team and the coaches are ready to begin rebuilding with several young talented players!.

“ Dead Week” is over and it’s time for some of the 2022-2023 sports seasons to begin. The OSSAA has set July 15 as the first day that schools can have an official softball practice. Cross Country can also have official practices on that same date. The softball teams and the cross country teams will start having contests the first week in August.

Holdenville High School Head Softball Coach, Rick Scott is definitely looking forward to the beginning of softball season. Scott will begin the season without several stellar players who have graduated and moved on to play college ball. In spite of this tremendous loss of talent Coach Scott remains optimistic about the upcoming season.

The Holdenville Softball Program will host a youth camp for students in K-6 grade on July 19 & 20. The camp will begin each day at12 noon and conclude at 2:30. The campers should report to the softball complex with gloves, water bottles, sunscreen and a swimsuit.

The Doghouse is under new ownership as of February 2022. Bruce Wilbourn and Susan Anson would like to welcome you to come by and see the new improvements we have made. We have 100% and E-10 fuel. A felony warrant was issued on June 23, 2022 for Kevin Ryan Davis, 33, of Holdenville for three counts of RAPE, FIRST DEGREE (VICTIM UNDER AGE 14), A FELONY, and two counts of FORCIBLE SODOMY. At approximately 8:30am on Friday, February 25, 2022, Holdenville Chief of Police Kristofer Green was dispatched to Holdenville General Hospital to take a report of a sexual assault.

Zac Greenlee continues his campaign to be the Republican nominee for District 1 Hughes County Commissioner. Only two votes separated Zac and his opponent, Dwight Barnett. The two men will face one another in a runoff election August 23.
