Holdenville basketball teams throttle Konawa Both the Holdenville boy’s and girl’s basketball teams made the 2023 Homecoming festivities an event to remember. The evening began with Dierre Olden crowning Madi McFarland as the 2023 Homecoming Queen and Madi reciprocating and crowning Dierre as the Homecoming King! After all the pictures and usual things that go along with Homecomings, the Holdenville Boys went to work and completely humbled the Konawa Tigers by a lopsided score of 82-39.

Sexual battery and assault charges have been filed against 42-year-old Hughes County Jail inmate, Randy Latrell Mills, after he forced himself on a female Hughes County jailer. On December 31, Deputy Josh Kelley of the Hughes County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the Hughes County Jail, where the detention officer informed him of the incident.

The week of January 9th was an exciting one for the Holdenville FFA Chapter. The annual pie auction was held on Thursday the 12th to raise funds for the Holdenville Ag Booster Club.

Michael Christian Wilcox, 32, of Holdenville, was booked into the Seminole County Jail on January 13 and charged with one count of producing, procuring, possessing juvenile pornography, one count of lewd or indecent acts to a child under 16, and one count of forcible sodomy.

The filing period for Holdenville’s upcoming city council election has been set for February 6-8. A resolution passed by the city council has set the dates and seats which will ne open for the eleciton.
