The Holdenville City Council meeting is scheduled for tonight (Tuesday, February 20, 2023) at 6:30 P.M., where Council Members are set to discuss and take action on a number of decisions that will decide the fate of many of the city’s projects and proposals.

The Holdenville Senior Citizens building is in disarray after years of unaddressed issues and now major water leaks. Project Director at New Age Project, Senior Nutrition, Pamela Moles says, “ Due to the continued decay of the Holdenville Seniors citizens building the health department has deemed it unsafe for Holdenville’s senior citizens to attend lunch at that facility.

On February 8, 2023, Arlon Cooper, age 56, of Wewoka was found guilty of Murder in the Second Degree by a Seminole County jury. He was sentenced to a term of imprisonment in the Oklahoma Department of Corrections for 20 years.

The Holdenville Society of Painters and Sculptors has great community events. Currently HSPS has a basket filled to the brim with drawing supplies including sets of drawing pencils, sketch pads of various sizes, erasers, colored pencils and other wonderful items that would be a great win for any beginner or other level of artist. The tickets for donation to win the basket are $1 each or 6 for $5 and are available at the Art center any weekday from 10 am to 2 pm. The Art Center is located at 118 N. Broadway Street in Holdenville, OK. All proceeds will benefit the Art center and upcoming events.

136 In Junior High Listed on New Honor List Holdenville Junior High School principal C.T. Bronaugh announced this week that 136 junior high students have a record of perfect attendance for the fourth six-weeks period, January 25—March 4, of this school year.
