1958 OLD NEWS Calvin, Dustin Sailors Are In Middle East Two Hughes County Sailors—one from Dustin and the other from Calvin—are with the United States Naval Forces which are currently involved in the Middle East action. Information that the two county seamen are in the operation has come from official naval releases made to hometown newspapers by the information department.

The Holdenville Society of Painter and Sculptors (HSPS) announces a one-day workshop to teach beginning acrylic painting techniques to be held August 17, 2023. This class will support beginners who have never picked up acrylic paint or have a little experience and will be a great opportunity to meet, greet, and learn! Holdenville, Oklahoma - Hillary Chekan, 29, was arrested in the early hours of June 14, 2023, after being pulled over for driving on the wrong side of the road. Officer Chris Perteet Jr of the Holdenville Police Department noticed Chekan’s silver Honda traveling northbound on West Eighth Street with its trunk swinging open and shut.

Holdenville, Oklahoma - Robert Jeremiah Elliott, 23, was apprehended by authorities in connection with a stolen vehicle case after a joint effort by law enforcement agencies in Hughes County. The incident culminated in the recovery of the stolen vehicle and the return of personal belongings to the owner.
