There will be an official Holdenville Alumni Association meeting at the Holdenville High School auditorium January 27th, 2025, 5:30 pm. The purpose of this meeting is to nominate and elect new officers for the 2025 year, review existing bi-laws and discuss updating those bi-laws if necessary.

The weather has been an obstacle to the Holdenville Wolverine basketball schedule but they finally had an opportunity to play last Tuesday. The Okemah Panthers came to town with 5 contests under their belt since Christmas Break while every one of the Wolverine games had been cancelled because of the weather.
Holdenville’s Princess O’neal out ran this Okemah player to the basket. The Wolverines will play at Stroud on Tuesday.

HHS Team Takes Hen Win, 64-39 Charles Self’s Wolverines combined their shooting ability and hustle to crush Henryetta 64 to 39 in a conference tilt at the Henryetta High School Gymnasium Friday night. It was a “happy victory” for Coach Self who had termed the game “a must” in a bid for the championship title in the Sooner-Star Conference.

Donald Ray “Coach” Farris, 92, of Canadian, passed away Wednesday, January 8, 2025 in Tulsa. The family will host a visitation on Thursday, January 16, at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home in McAlester from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Funeral services are set for Friday, January 17, at 2:00 p.m. at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home Chapel in McAlester, with the Rev. Dr. Jim Hill officiating. Burial will follow at Savanna Cemetery with the Rev. Mike Farris officiating there. Funeral music will be provided by the Rev. Bobby Hall.
