One might say the Wolverines were lulled into complacency at Dibble. The Wolverines completely dominated Beggs the week before and had jumped out to a 24-0 lead in the first quarter at Dibble.

At the recent Holdenville Hospital Authority meeting, Hospital CEO Steve Stewart shared updates on hospital operations, finances, and upcoming events. Stewart reported that the hospital’s financials were better than anticipated, with a smaller bottom-line loss than expected. He emphasized that year-todate financials remain strong, and the hospital’s cash flow is positive.

Two state questions on the November 2024 ballot propose amendments to the Oklahoma Constitution. State Question 833 deals with public infrastructure districts, while State Question 834 addresses voter eligibility.

The Holdenville City Council met on Tuesday to discuss several business items, including a proposal for a new curb at the recently opened restaurant, “The Shop.” While the discussion focused on improving parking for the new business, the council raised concerns about how the curb could affect the surrounding area. One of the primary concerns, voiced by former City Manager Larry Mitchel, was the potential impact a new curb could have on street drainage.
