Wake up” These and other similar sayings have the same purpose - to force active, intelligent awareness of one’s surroundings and to keep from being lulled into complacency! One might say the Wolverines were lulled into complacency at Dibble. The Wolverines completely dominated Beggs the week before and had jumped out to a 24-0 lead in the first quarter at Dibble.
Holdenville kick-off return specialists, # 4, Mike Piza leads # 6, Kase Sipes on a kick-off return at Dibble. Holdenville won the game 38-20.

HOSPITAL SHOWS POSITIVE FINANCIALS, DISCUSS PLANS

At the recent Holdenville Hospital Authority meeting, Hospital CEO Steve Stewart shared updates on hospital operations, finances, and upcoming events. Stewart reported that the hospital’s financials were better than anticipated, with a smaller bottom-line loss than expected. He emphasized that year-todate financials remain strong, and the hospital’s cash flow is positive.

HOLDENVILLE CITY COUNCIL TABLES DISCUSSION ON NEW CURB FOR LOCAL RESTAURANT

The Holdenville City Council met on Tuesday to discuss several business items, including a proposal for a new curb at the recently opened restaurant, “The Shop.” While the discussion focused on improving parking for the new business, the council raised concerns about how the curb could affect the surrounding area. One of the primary concerns, voiced by former City Manager Larry Mitchel, was the potential impact a new curb could have on street drainage. City Attorney Matt Peters echoed these concerns, stating that more guidance and a formal set of plans are needed before any construction can begin.
