The couple is stationed in Japan in the Navy for another 1 1/2 years. Holocaust Survivors Reunite after 79 Years

Those who say there’s no such thing as destiny need to meet Jack Waksal and Sam Ron, victims who met during the Holocaust, and who met again 79 years later in South Florida. Having endured slave labor shoulder to shoulder in the Pionki Labor Camp in Poland, the two were separated after Waksal escaped into the forest, and Ron was moved to a different camp that was ultimately liberated.

Wolverine softball squad looks to district The Holdenville Wolverine softball team will begin the 2022 play-offs when they travel to Calera for the district tournament. Holdenville head coach, Rick Scott, labels this district tournament as one of the toughest in the state.
Holdenville catcher, Bella Adam, swings away in Holdenville’s contest with Wewoka. Holdenville run ruled the Tigers by a score of 12-0.

Robert Jeffrey Janes of OKC, 65 years young passed unexpectedly, Sun, April 10, 2022. He is survived by wife, Rejina Janes, daughter Mechell Janes; brother, Gregg Janes and family; brother Steve Hester and family; father Bob Hester and family; preceded in death by mother, Lu Ann Hester and father Charles Arthur Janes. He was a Licensed Counselor and Minister. He influenced many souls in the community through his long service. Graveside Services will be held Thursday, April 21, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. at Holdenville Cemetery.

Flora Factor, age 76, passed away Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at her home in Wewoka, OK. She was born July 22, 1945 in Sasakwa, OK to the late Abler Davis and Nora (Tiger) Davis. Flora graduated from Sasakwa and went on to be a nurses aid. She was a member of Little River Baptist Church. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, singing, driving around, and going to Church. She is preceded in death by her parents, son, Patrick Wayne Factor, brothers, Jessie Davis, Tom Davis, Joe Davis, Willie Davis, sisters, Lana Bowlegs, and Jeanith Davis. Flora is survived by her daughter Caitlyn Factor of Wewoka, OK, grandchildren, Dakota Factor of Holdenville, OK, Adrian Factor of Okemah, OK, and 1 great grand child, and sister, Wanda Dodson of Wewoka, OK. Viewing will be from 1:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M. Thursday, April 14, 2022 at Stout-Phillips Chapel in Wewoka, OK. Wake service will be from 5:00 P.M.- 7:00 P.M. Friday, April 15, 2022 at Stout-Phillips Chapel in Wewoka, OK. Funeral service will be at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, April 16, 2022 at Stout-Phillips Chapel in Wewoka, OK, with Pastor Robert J.
