The danger of loneliness caused by the coronavirus

Body
Loneliness is such a sad affair, as the saying goes, and our politicians have succeeded in turning America into a lonely nation by decree. We are going on four months now of lockdowns, business shutdowns, and few social gatherings. What this is doing to the nation’s psyche has been devastating.

Thin Blue Line event great success!

Body
Saturday August 15th Holdenville’s Stroup Park transformed into a family fun attraction honoring our local law enforcement. Organizers Michelle Rhinehart and Amber Orr and their volunteers worked tirelessly to ensure this event was successful. Bringing a water slide, live music, free Snowcones, face painting, a dunk tank, and even a donut eating contest to the park. People of all ages enjoyed everything the event offered. Hughes County Sheriff Marcia Maxwell and her deputies attended the event bringing smiles and positivity and a few dunks in the dunk tank and cooling off on the water slide. Live entertainment from the Steve Keesee band livened up the atmosphere throughout the event! A special motorcycle ride in from the local America’s Guardians Motorcycle Club kicked off the event. Special guests Jason Self, Military and Veteran Representative and Law Enforcement Coordinator for Congressman Markwayne Mullin, spoke alongside with Robert Hawkins, deputy chief of the Muscogee Creek Nation Lighthorse thanking the community for supporting local law enforcement. The event raised over $1500.00 for the Oklahoma Law Enforcement Memorial, which supports families of the fallen, veterans and more. Michelle and Amber would like to thank everyone who participated in and donated to the event.
