HOLDENVILLE GRADUATE HONORED BY HARRAH HIGH SCHOOL

Body Harrah High School has dedicated a section of the visitor-side bleachers of their football stadium to longtime journalist and educator John Bill Martin. The Panther athletic facility also now features a John Martin Mezzanine directly in front of the field house.
HOLDENVILLE GRADUATE JOHN BILL MARTIN was recently honored by Harrah High School. As our readers know, John Bill has written a column for our local paper for many years. We get more good feedback on that one column than all the others combined!

Body Many of our Wolverine football fans were going through withdrawals this past weekend. Fortunately deer season started or many of us would have been moping around with that blank look of a football addict who can’t get a fix.

Body Wolverines Drop Double Overtime Thriller Holdenville traveled to Purcell for a first round play-off contest and it was obvious from the very start that the teams were evenly matched.
Holdenville’s #7 Gage Smith, and Purcell’s # 54, Carter Goldston, look on as the referee gives instruction on the overtime coin flip. Gage won the flip and the Wolverines chose to play defense first. The game went to double overtime before Purcell was able to score and win the game.

Body Wolverines trounce Lexington 49-7 Holdenville traveled to Lexington last Friday to face a good Bull Dog team and the Wolverines walked away with a 49-7 victory.
THE HOLDENVILLE WOLVERINE CROSS COUNTRY TEAM HAS BEEN RECOGNIZED AND HONORED FOR THEIR WORK IN THE CLASSROOM! The girls have a combined grade point average of 3.86! Daisy Wood, Darcy Shepherd, Blakeleigh Whiteman, Belle McFarland, Destiny Jennings and Brooklyn Nelms have earned a Academic Achievement Award for Holdenville High!

Body Holdenville dominates Marietta 52-0 It was fitting that last Thursday’s game at Marietta was played right before Halloween. It was a dark dreary night in a dimly lit stadium.
Holdenville linebackers # 12, Bubbah Bowen and # 24, Xavier Randall pushed all of these Marietta blockers out of their way and converged on the Marietta Indian running back. Holdenville won the game 52-0 and will travel to Lexington for an important district contest on Friday.

Body To say the Holdenville Wolverines defeated the Coalgate Wildcats would be a drastic understatement! The game was a physical mismatch! Holdenville’s varsity, the Alpha Team, coasted through the first half, and the “Beta” team mopped up during the second half.
