Lumber J. Proctor 71-year-old Holdenville resident since July 2008 passed away Monday January 11, 2021 in Texarkana, Texas. He was born the oldest of 9 children on October 30, 1949 in McIntosh County, Dustin, Oklahoma to the late father that passed July 9, 2019 Charlie James Proctor. Lumber grew up in Oklahoma City area and graduated from Classen High School. He was baptized when he was 12 years old, belong to Weogufkee Baptist Church.

Philip Richardson Madden III was born on May 11, 1947 in Holdenville, Oklahoma. He was the oldest of four children, born to Homer (Boots) Richardson Madden and Ora Ann (Eiklor) Madden. Philip passed away on December 19, 2020 at Mercy Hospital in Ardmore, Oklahoma. He was raised in Holdenville, graduating from Holdenville High School in 1965 along with some of his closest friends, “The Magnificent 5.” After high school, he joined The National Guard and then went on to attend Okmulgee Art School, graduating with a degree in advertising art. Philip worked for Southwestern Bell and retired after 30 years of service. He enjoyed Louise L’Amour books, old cars, nascar, and very spicy chili. Philip was preceded in death by his parents, Boots and Ann Madden. He is survived by his brothers, sister, children, grandchildren and many other loving family and friends. A memorial service in Philip’s honor will be held on Friday, January 22, 2021 at 2 p.m. at New Life Bible Church in Norman, Oklahoma.

Shirley Cristelee (Taylor) Lee McAdoo passed away in Holdenville, Oklahoma on Sunday morning, January 3, 2021, at the age of 84 years. Shirley was the daughter of Alton Jewel Taylor and Era (Westerman) Taylor, born on May 27, 1936, in Wewoka, Oklahoma.

Robert Davis, 71, longtime Hughes County resident, was called to his Heavenly home Friday, December 18, 2020, in his Holdenville home. Robert was born January 20, 1949 in Wewoka, Oklahoma to Jessie Davis and Ora (Johnson) Davis.

Graveside rights will be held at the Holdenville Cemetery,Monday, January 18 at 2:00. Lenell was a longtime teacher at both Holdenville and Yeager and wife of legendery Holdenville Coach, Charlie Self.

Doyle Bane passed from this life on Friday, January 1, 2021. Doyle was born in Holdenville, Oklahoma on October 29, 1938.

James Lewis ‘Jim’ Waters passed from this life Wednesday, December 23, 2020, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 84 years. Jim was one of sixteen children born to Allen Waters and Gladys (Agans) Waters on October 4, 1936 at Indianapolis, Indiana.

Services for Betty Jo Mitchell, 84, of Allen are 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Richmond Avenue Free Will Baptist Church in Allen. Rev. Buddy Drake will officiate. Burial will follow at Allen Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the Allen Chapel from 4:00 Tuesday until service time. The family request all who attend the viewing and the service to please wear a mask.

Tarry Ann (Howard) Epperley passed away from this life on December 31, 2020, surrounded by her family and loved ones. Tarry was born in Portland, Oregon and was raised mostly in the Holdenville area, and that’s where she fell in love and married Gary Nolan Epperley.

Melinda Ann Childers passed away in Holdenville, Oklahoma on December 31, 2020, at the age of 57 years. Melinda was the daughter of Bill and Mary (Pullen) Curlee, born on March 21, 1963, in Wewoka, Oklahoma.
