Brewer and Velma Ledbetter Brewer. She graduated from Holdenville High School and dedicated more than a decade of service to the Holdenville Daily News before retiring.

Dolores Joan Ingram (Rusty) passed away on Friday, May 8, 2026, in Shawnee, Oklahoma, at the age of 92. She was a long-time resident of Holdenville, moving to Shawnee in 2017 after the death of her husband, W.D. (Dub) Ingram. She was also predeceased by her parents, Thomas Adams and Edith Tanner Adams Ramsey, and her first son, Thomas David Ingram. Dolores was born December 3, 1933, at Springer, Oklahoma.

Judith Gayle Miller passed away on Sunday, April 26, 2026, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, surrounded by her family and friends. She was the daughter of Avis and Lytle Anderson of Alva, Oklahoma. Judy graduated from Alva High School in 1959 and continued her education at Southwestern College in Winfield, Kansas, where she earned her degree in 1963.

Kernek Elmer McDonald, Kenny as some of you may know him, born 18 June 1957, in Holdenville, Oklahoma to Elmer and Hazel Marguerite (Wages) McDonald of Calvin, Oklahoma was raised as a mechanic and welder, Graduating as Valedictorian of his class in 1975, Kernek attended summer courses at Seminole Junior College, then joined the US Army in July 1975. Upon completion of Basic and AIT in Fort Polk, Louisiana, he was assigned at his home base, Fort Riley, Kansas, where he received beginning language courses to speak German. A transfer to several temporary stations in Europe resulted in receiving instruction of Rock Climbing and both Calm and White Water Kayaking, ending with an ascent of the Alpspitze in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Upon successful completion of that training, Kernek received French Commando training in Trier, Germany with the 5th Regiment.

Charley Brooks Hailey Passes Away

Charley Brooks Hailey passed away Saturday, April 25th, 2026, at his home in Holdenville, Oklahoma at the age of 78. Charley was born July 15th, 1947, in Maud, Oklahoma to Brooks Hailey and Lois Marie (Orsburn) Hailey. Charley graduated from Holdenville Public School. He married Linda Faye Johnson on February 14, 1987, in Seminole, Oklahoma. Charley worked in the Oilfield industry as a Roustabout. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking, gardening and operating equipment. Charley loved spending time with his family and friends. Charley is preceded in death by his parents Brooks and Lois Hailey, and grandchild Dalton Brown. He is survived by his wife Linda Hailey of the home, children; Cody Brooks Hailey and wife Dawn of McComb, Glenda Brown of Konawa, Danny Cooper and wife Joy of Kansas, Connie Pierre and husband Greg of Maud, seven grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, siblings; Donna Lipe of Holdenville and David Hailey of Holdenville. Charley is survived by numerous other relatives and friends. There will be no service at this time. Services are under the direction of Hudson- Phillips Funeral Home in Holdenville, Oklahoma.

Gerald Doyle Bottoms, age 95, passed away peacefully on February 24, 2026 leaving behind a legacy of service, intellect, and deep love for family. He was born on April 10, 1930, in Holdenville, Oklahoma, to Edgar and Lorene Bottoms, and was a 1948 graduate of Spaulding High School. He was preceded in death by his siblings Leon Bottoms and Mildred Bottoms Edwards and his beloved wife, Maxine Lee Bottoms, with whom he shared a lifetime of love and devotion.
