Christopher Adam Dalinger, 45, Calvin, was fatally wounded Saturday, October 11, in a two-vehicle accident. The accident occurred at approximately 4:47 p.m.

Hughes County EMS Director Will Biswell has resigned from his position effective immediately, according to a letter dated October 6 and addressed to EMS Board Chairman Tommy Taylor. In his resignation letter, Biswell said he was stepping down after concluding that he no longer had the support of the Hughes County EMS Board to hold employees accountable or to maintain the standards he expected within the department.

On Monday, October 6, 2025, OBN’s Marijuana Enforcement Teams (MET) served a Search Warrant at 2653 N. 377 Road just north of Yeager, in Holdenville, Oklahoma as part of an on-going investigation into illegal activities, including marijuana cultivation without an active OBN Registration. OBN MET Agents seized 14,366 marijuana plants, made 2 arrests, and 2 individuals were taken into custody by Immigration And Customs Enforcement (ICE). OBN MET Agents were assisted today by HSI, ICE, DEA, District 22 Drug Task Force, Hughes County Sheriff’s Office, and the Hughes County Commissioners Office. More arrests are pending as this investigation continues.

Holdenville Lions Club met at Wes Watkins Technology Center for the annual fish fry. The meeting was brought to order by outgoing President, Lion Lori Woods. The flag salute was led by Lion Jack Bush, followed by the invocation by Lion Mike Lindley. There were 4 guests in attendance; John Baxley, Travis Harmon, Kathryn Radach and Daphne Irby. Treasurer Lion Steve Enos stated the regular account is low since he just paid all dues, International, State and District. The service account has a fair amount and will help get the Lions Potato Bar fundraiser going in Dec. or Jan. The treasurer’s report was approved as presented. Secretary Lion Jerrie Lindsey read the minutes from the last meeting in May 2025. The minutes were approved as read.
