Raymond Francis Lacey passed away at his home in Maud, Oklahoma on Thursday morning, May 4, 2023, at the age of 80 years.

Raymond was the son of Hugh Edward Lacey and Dorothy (Pendleton) Lacey, born on July 4, 1942, in Indio, California, where he was brought up and attended schools. He married Alice Fay Shelly on February 3, 1968, in Winterhaven, California, and they lived for many years in Indio. They moved to Holdenville, Oklahoma in 1992, where they lived for several years before moving to Maud, Oklahoma, their home for the past fifteen years.

Raymond worked most of his life as a diesel and auto mechanic and worked for several years in lawn service. For the past few years he was “retired” with the exception of maintaining the lawn exclusively for Fisher Funeral Home, where he consistently and meticulously provided excellent and greatly appreciated lawn service. He loved to fish and hunt. One of his favorite things was piddling with fixing things, and he’d recently finished a complete overhaul of a tractor. Raymond was a strong and steady, kind and quiet kind of man who will be keenly missed by all who knew him. He is preceded in death by his parents, Hugh & Dorothy Lacey, three brothers, and three sisters. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Alice Lacey, of the home; three children: Michael Lacey of Maud, Tammy Moore and husband Randy of Seminole, and Raymond E. Lacey of Maud; thirteen grandchildren and several great grandchildren; one sister, Jerri Townley; nieces and nephews, other family members, and many friends.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, May 9, 2023, and Raymond will be laid to rest at Holdenville Cemetery. www.fisherfh.net
