The Holdenville Lions Club recently held an installation ceremony at Wes Watkins Technology Center for incoming officers and elected Lori Woods as the new 2024-2025 president. The mission of the Lions Club is to identify and meet needs within the community. Lori, a team member in the Workforce and Economic Development department at WWTC, has been involved with the Lions Club for the past three years and previously served as the vice-president. Her position in WWTC’s Workforce and Economic Development department helps to cultivate partnerships with community organizations while cre-ating business connections within local communities.

Governor Kevin Stitt announced Friday the appointment of Brett William Butner as District Judge for Oklahoma’s 22nd Judicial District. Butner replaces Judge Timothy Olsen, who re-signed effective Sept.

Holdenville Whips Tishomingo 46-0 The Wolverines made the long trip to Tishomingo Friday night and the football game was really over before it got started. The Wolverines scored twice in the first five minutes of the contest and took a quick lead of 16-0.

We will be having a Kickoff party at the library on October 31st at 5:30 directly after Downtown Trick or treat. All ages are welcome, come dressed as Dolly Parton (please be tasteful), play games, enjoy some light snacks, and listen to (The Little Engine That Could”) Which is the first book to be received by all children who sign up for Imagination Library. The first 40 to sign at the party will receive their book that night. Children aged 0-5, who live in the 74848, 74883 zipcodes, will receive a free book every month in the mail addressed to them. There is no cost to the family no matter their income.
