The HCIC will give away a ham or turkey for Thanksgiving. (One per household) Recipients must be a community member or an enrolled citizen of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation residing within the boundaries of the HCIC and provide proof of citizenship and residency upon delivery. If you would like to order a ham or turkey, please call the office at (405) 379-3485 and leave a message. DEADLINE FOR ORDERING IS FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 6TH AT 4:00 P.M.

Holdenville welcomes Senator Jim Inhofe

United States Senator James “Jim” Inhofe made an extended stop in Holdenville Thursday morning as part of a media tour across the state. Visiting informally with a small group of people that gathered to welcome him to the community, Senator Inhofe recalled how he had frequently passed through Holdenville when he worked as an insurance claims agent before entering politics.

Council makes new hires, approves street commissioner raise

The Holdenville City Council met in regular session on Tuesday, October 20. Reports from the committees was mostly positive, and another department head was given a raise, part of an ongoing effort to improve all city employee wages. There were new part-time and full-time hires made, and the mayor offered his thoughts on dealing with the COVID 19 pandemic.

Holdenville Church of the Nazarene supports local children and families in partnership with OKDHS

OKLAHOMA CITY (Oct. 21, 2020) – As part of its Service-First Model, Oklahoma Human Services (OKDHS) has worked to develop local community partnerships to meet and serve the agency’s customers. As part of this effort, the Holdenville Church of the Nazarene has offered the agency full access, 24-hours a day to a small meeting room and nursery within the church, as well as an attached building on the church grounds with a large room, kitchen and restroom access. These spaces will allow the agency to offer its services and facilitate family meetings and visitations, among many other things in a warm, comfortable setting.

US Senator Jim Inhofe Visits Holdenville

Senator Jim Inhofe, longtime friend of Hughes County, stopped in Holdenville this past week to visit with friends and local leaders. Left is Mayor John Massad visiting with the Senator about some of the challenges the City is facing. Right the Senator had a good visit Rev. Jimmy Anderson, Pastor of Many Springs Baptist Church. Both the Senator and the Reverend Anderson have done extinsive missionary work during their lifetime.

Progressive 5-Year-Old Claims Cookie Crumbs All Over His Face Are Part of Russian Disinformation Campaign

PORTLAND, OR—Local 5-year-old progressive child Hunter Gaiden was caught with his hand in the cookie jar today. There were clearly crumbs all over his face, as well as a trail of crumbs leading right to the cookie jar.
