OKLAHOMA LEADS THE NATION IN UTILITY CUTOFFS

Oklahoma had the third highest number of utility cutoffs in the nation in 2024, according to a report from the Energy Policy Institute.

The number of cutoffs for nonpayment in Oklahoma in 2024 totaled 572,480, putting the state in third place for disconnections behind Texas, which reported over 3 million cutoffs, and Florida where over 2.1 million customers were disconnected for nonpayment.
