Wolverines open basketball season Holdenville High School will open the 2024-2025 basketball season on Tuesday when the Wolverines play host to the Seminole Chieftains. The Wolverines are just over a week away from the end of football season and many of the boys who starred on the gridiron are expected to play a significant role on the hard wood.

At the Nov. 5, 2024 meeting the Holdenville Lions Club were called to order by Secretary Lion Jerrie Lindsey, due to previous commitments of President Lion Lori Woods and VP Lion Ernie Arocha. After the flag salute and invocation, the minutes were read and approved and the Treasurer’s report was also read and approved. Business included talking about where the eyeglasses collection boxes are currently located, and that the Post Office cannot allow a box, but the High School will.

Candidate filing for the Board of Education begins Monday, December 2nd for Stuart, Holdenville, Moss, Wetumka, Calvin, Graham- Dustin and Wes Watkin Technology Center Hughes County school districts. Those who wish to file for a Board of Education office must submit a Declaration of Candidacy to the Hughes County Election Board December 2nd, 3rd or4th, between the hours of 8 a.m.
