The other day I came across another one of those deeply sobering studies about how America is worried about our sons, especially regarding boys growing into successful adults. This study, done by the Brookings Institution, found that 41 percent of Americans agreed or strongly agreed with this concern.

Reed Elementary School in Holdenville is now taking enrollment for Pre-K and new students Kindergarten through third grade for the 2021-2022 school year. Children must be four years of age on or before September 1, 2021 to enroll in Pre-K and you must bring shot records, birth certificates, social security cards, proof of residency and tribal card (if applicable). Friday, March 12th, is the last day to apply for voter registration in order to be eligible to vote in the April 6th Board of Education General, Statutory Municipal General and Special Election, Hughes County Election Board Secretary Brandy Davis said today.

Wolverines have awesome sports week The Holdenville Wolverines began the first week of March in stellar fashion! The baseball team defeated Seminole. The Wolverine weight lifters scored well at the regional weight lifting meet in Broken Bow and two members of the team will represent Holdenville High School at the state meet in El Reno! The track team earned a Wolverine share of medals at the meet in Luther! And, three young Wolverine mid-school weight lifters qualified for state.
