WHAT AMERICA MEANS TO ME

Body
Hello my name is David Olney and I am a senior at Holdenville High School. What America means to me is a lot of different things. The first thing that comes to mind is freedom. Freedom is the first thing that everyone sees when they look at America and it’s the most important part of our country. Our freedoms not only as a country but as individuals is super important to us as Americans. This freedom is something that we are lucky to have because most countries don’t have the freedom we are given. I think at times we take advantage of what is given to us, and we complain about how things are but in reality we have it much better than others across the globe. I am grateful to be a part of this country and thankful for those who sacrificed to give us these freedoms.

The Holdenville Round-Up Club is coming back! We will have a kickoff meeting on June 18 at 7pm, at the Holdenville Fairgrounds and Billy A. Moss arena. All interested in being a part of our organization, are welcome to attend. We are excited to bring the arena back to life, for our western heritage, and family fun. Startup events for this year will likely include play days, barrel racing and roping events. The Holdenville Rodeo will be on the 2023 schedule. The above photo was taken August 9, 1940 when the Holdenville Round-Up Clup was going strong. Come join us in building this organization back to its original greatness! It was originally founded by Jack Andrews in September 1938.
