Sky 5 flew over the scene, where Pilot Chase Rutledge said firefighters worked to extricate a person from the car. Rutledge said they had to take the driver-side doors and frame off to get the person out of the car. The man involved in the crash was Holdenville resident Hugh Walton. He sustained several injuries from the crash. Our sincere prayers are with he and his family as he recovers.

Holdenville, Oklahoma - On February 25, 2023, tragedy struck at the Davis Correctional Facility in Holdenville, Hughes County, Oklahoma. Brantley Avallone, an inmate at the facility, was found unresponsive and covered in blood in his cell. Despite efforts to resuscitate him, Avallone was pronounced dead by the Holdenville EMS at 6:40 PM.
