I do not function well in isolation.

Never have, never will!

I am a people person and my recent seven-week quarantine played tricks with my psyche. With no sporting events to attend and none to watch on TV, I found myself on strange web-sites, reading strange data.

Which led me to @K4KNOWLEDGE which was packed full of previously unknown (and sometimes useless) facts. Here are a few of them: DID YOU KNOW?

Humans are born with two fears: falling and loud noises. Every other fear is learned. The world’s quietest room is -9 decibels, quiet enough to hear your blood flowing. Crocodiles have no lips. They can also hold their breath for an hour. Banana is a happy fruit. Eating just one can help you relieve irritable emotions, anger or depression.

And more on bananas: Bananas are curved because they grow against the pull of gravity. They start off hanging downwards but as they grow larger, they start trying to grow upwards to get more sun and end up having a curved shape.

An octopus actually has 6 arms and 2 legs, not 8 legs.

An elephant can smell water from 3 miles away.

Human thigh bones are stronger than concrete.

The first non-human to win an Oscar was Mickey Mouse.

You can survive entirely on a diet of potatoes and butter which provide all the necessary nutrients the human body needs.

Rainbows appear as full circles when you are in the sky. They only appear as half circles from the ground because there’s no rain below the person viewing it.

Talking to yourself is a good way to help maintain your focus while completing a task. B e e r reduces the risk of developing kidney stones by 40% Germany has officially abolished college tuition fees, even for international students. In Japanese schools, students aren’t administered any exams until they reach fourth grade. Why? Because the goal for the first three years of school is not to judge the student’s ability to memorize, but to establish good manners and to develop their character. Japanese scholars teach manners first and foremost.

Humans have more empathy for dogs than they do for other humans.

In America, 40% of all births come from unmarried women.

Only 25 people in the world are known to have Hyperthymesia, a condition that allows them to remember every detail of their lives.

Cigarette butts are the most littered item in the world with an estimated 4.5 trillion littered annually. Each butt can take 5 to 400 years to completely break down.

If you work nights, you are a lychnobite, a person who sleeps all day and works at night. T h e world’s oldest known creature, a mollusk, was 507 years old until scientists killed it by mistake.

If the human eye were a digital camera, it would have 576 megapixels.
