At this year’s Hughes County Junior Livestock Show, the community came together to honor a man whose impact on agricultural education and the lives of countless students is immeasurable. Gerald Roberts, a longtime agricultural education teacher, was recognized for his years of hard work, dedication, and, above all, his care and concern for the students he taught. The show was officially dedicated to both Roberts and his former colleague, Dale Turner, in appreciation of their contributions to agricultural education in Holdenville.

The Oklahoma State Department of Education has released their Oklahoma School Report Cards for the 202324 school year. The information comes from testing done in the spring of 2024. According to www.schoolreportcards. ok.gov, report card measures serve as indicators of how public schools are serving students in a variety of areas. Measured at different points, indicators work together to provide a snapshot of school performance.
