RED HATS GATHER IN JULY

July 14tn the Red Hats held their monthly get together at Calvary Baptist Church fellowship hall. Glenda Stinson and Diane Bowman were hostess. Members attending were Sharon Dilday, Joyce Brinlee, Joyce Yates, Glenda Stinson, Diane Bowman and guest Renee Yates Snider, Tiffany Johnson, and Tawny Yates. Main menu consisted of sub sandwiches with compliments and a dessert that we dubbed as Glenda’s blueberry delight. Luncheon was enjoyed by all. A special shoutout to Lynn Marquis, retiring President, for her excellent service and donations of her Red Hats to the chapter. Election of officers for the 2024 year and new and old business was discussed, voted upon and approved. After a lot of discussions and laughter the meeting ended until next month.

HOLDENVILLE RESIDENT PRAISES CITY COUNCIL

At the recent Holdenville City Council meeting, resident Phillip Wood took the floor to express his gratitude and appreciation for the ongoing efforts to enhance the city’s appearance and services. Wood began by thanking the council members and City Manager for their dedicated work in cleaning up Holdenville, noting the visible improvements throughout the community.

Carole June Monday passed away Saturday, August 2, 2024 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 86. Carole was born January 29th, 1938 in Dallas, Texas to Lloyd Orville Riggs and Margaret (Kemp) Riggs.

Town mourns loss of Carley Ann Tatum

A well-known and well-loved local young lady as well as her soulmate, Clayton Soloman, died due to injuries sustained from an automobile accident that happened near Calera, Oklahoma, Friday evening. Carley Ann Tatum was born in Ada, Oklahoma on July 18, 2001 to Kevin and Krista Tatum.
55 YEARS AGO THESE YOUNGSTERS RECEIVED THEIR DIPLOMA FROM HOLDENVILLE HIGH SCHOOL.....and they haven’t changed a bit!! OSSAA Divides Class 2A The Oklahoma Secondary Schools Athletic Association has divided class 2A into 2 divisions. Class 2A has traditionally had 124 teams and there’s a significant variation in the size of the schools.
