Christina Janice Screechowl passed away in Tulsa, Oklahoma on Monday, May 9, 2022, at the age of 77 years. Christina was the daughter of Kenneth and Josephine (Cook) Factor, born on July 20, 1944.
Joyce Wylene Dempsey died on Thursday, May 5, 2022. She was born August 29, 1932 in Holdenville, Oklahoma to B.R. and Thelma (Bennett) Gordon. She married Jack Dempsey on December 21, 1957 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. They had three children: Steve, Rhonda, and Mark.
Long time Hughes County resident, Edmon Earl Thetford, passed from this life on May 9, 2022. He was a resident of the Oklahoma Veterans Center in Norman where he had resided since December of 2016.

Horntown experienced to earthquakes on the same day last week. May 14 registered two earthquakes, one a 1.5 - 6km west, southwest of Horntown. The other a 3.5 - 4km quake, west northwest of town. Many locals felt the quake as well as many people in the Holdenville Area.
