Patricia Ann (Burleson) Glasco passed away Thursday, September 16, 2021, at the age of 81. She was born January 14, 1940 in Tulsa to Cleo Whitley and Opal Irene (Crow) Burleson. She was married September 20, 1958 to J. W. Glasco. They made their home in Holdenville in 1970, where Patricia served as a secretary and then teacher for many years. She received her Masters in Education from East Central State University.

State Treasurer: Fossil Fuels Rebound to Push Gross Receipts Higher

Oklahoma Gross Receipts to the treasury in August grew by almost 20 percent over the year with a rebounding fossil fuel industry leading the way, State Treasurer Randy McDaniel announced last week. Total monthly gross receipts of $1.17 billion are higher than August of last year by $191.2 million, or 19.5 percent.

My adult son, Spencer, recently reported he heard my voice and his Grandpa’s voice after finishing a lawn mowing job. When he completed the task the voices in his head asked, “Is it ready for inspection?” So he went back and rechecked his work to make sure it was done right.

How do you reach back in America’s long history and try to harmonize our times with the rigorous and dangerous times in America’s past? Pearl Harbor perhaps? Only a few of us are still living who can remember that dreadful December day in 1941. It’s now long past. But I certainly remember Pearl Harbor.

Good Week for Wolverine Sports Last week was a near perfect week for Holdenville Wolverine sports. Coach Rick Scott’s softball team won three games and went undefeated for the week.
Holdenville softball standout, Cheyenne Fixico, is this week’s co-Wolverine of the Week. Chey is an outstanding pitcher and hitter.
