Richard Ellwanger, Executive Director of the Seminole Nation Museum in Wewoka, has been elected to serve as president of the Oklahoma Museums Association. Ellwanger was selected to lead the statewide nonprofit in September of 2020 and will serve a two-year term as president that began Jan.

Wolverines down Wewoka 72-61 The Holdenville High School girls’ basketball squad traveled to Wewoka and defeated the Tigers 71-62. Holdenville took command early in the contest and amassed a 19 point first quarter lead before the Tigers could get going.

Billy W. Jay passed away Saturday, February 6, 2021 in Holdenville, OK. Services will be held Thursday, February 11 at 1:00pm in the Lillye Chapel of Fisher Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Holdenville Cemetery. Full obituary next week.

Dorothy “Earlene” Hamilton (Lee) Rose departed this earth on February 4, 2021 to be with her heavenly Father. Earlene was born on August 19, 1935 to Earl and Leatha Hamilton.

Roy Powell passed away in Holdenville on Saturday, January 30, 2021, at the age of 54 years. Roy was the son of David and Mary (Johnson) Powell, born on February 6, 1966, in Wetumka, Oklahoma, where he was brought up.

Sandra Lynn (Palmer) Carlin, 52, of Holdenville, Oklahoma passed away Sunday, January 10th, 2021 at the Chickasaw Nation Medical Center in Ada. Sandra, lovingly known as Sandy, was born in Claremore, Oklahoma to Nettie Thompson and Louis Palmer Sr. on March 24th, 1968.
